The production of Ajax timpani started in the year 1990. The designer and founder is Koos Terpstra, who has been a professional timpanist and percussion player in several of the most important orchestras in the Netherlands. Sound is his profession and passion, engineering his greatest skill. The power of Ajax timpani is it's sound, sound and sound. Many timpanists worldwide replace their usual kettles for Ajax kettles, after they heard their sound.

To be convinced of the product, we did several comparing tests in the famous Concertgebouw in Amsterdam with several leading timpanists. We did blind tests, live performances and just listening tests. The final conclusion was always; it's the sound of these instruments that puts them over any competition.
